We got a pet betta fish about two weeks ago. My sister-in-law made a donation to this minister dude and then he gave her a fish; so then she came over and just gave him to us! Needless to say, it was a cool surprise. He's mostly red, but he has some shiny blue towards the end of his body. My husband named him "Slick".

We got a 2 1/2 gal. tank for him along with some glow-in-the-dark plants, a little pirate ship, an air filter, and a few other things. (That ended up costing about $50!! Aaah! Whatever, it was worth it for Slick's well-being.) The pirate ship has these two openings on the top for the fish to swim into. Sometimes he'll swim into one hole on the ship and then come out of the other! It's really cute to watch him swim around his tank.

I've noticed that it's also stress-relieving to watch fish, so yeah. A potential reccomendation?

About the book cover I had mentioned in my previous entry... The other people working on the book just wanted to get it DONE because they were so tired of working on this. I was going to try to make this nice (well, as nice as I can) painting for the cover. As most of you probably know, good art takes soooooooooooo much time! I'm not just saying that out of laziness or whatever -- I'm serious. Anyway, I would not have been able to make a *decent* painting within the time frame that the other people wanted. I just said, "Sorry, I'm not going to be able to do a good job in this short amount of time." So they said, "Alright, just don't worry about the cover art then." There. End of that. *Big ass breath of relief!*

I'm just happy that my part of the project is finally OVER. I don't know if any project has ever caused so much stress for me. If there are other contenders, then this book project would have gotten a high-ranking slot in my list of serious stress-out projects.

So anyway, yeah, I was excited and I wanted to tell my friends about our new fish. I wish I could post a picture of him. He's a cute little guy.
